recently, before we came, the huge Palm having existed in central of palm house was cut because its top touched the ceiling (too tall and big). here is the cross section of the huge palm. !!

*** I saw many students such as elementary school students learning about plants (they reacted tropical fruits very much)and also art college students drawing pictures taking photography visited to Palm House. Here is the place of many kind of educations. IMG_7838

●Tour of Palm House by one of the great staffs at RGBK;)

We had a very nice opportunity to be given tour of palm house with such a fun explanation by manager of Palm House.

starting from its basement…!

the door connecting to this boiler system, photo of bellow, is next to some office rooms at the basement. it was only boiler system at basement before 1980 which had restoration of Palm House.  the temperature and humidity are controlled by computer system. (Temperature min 20℃, Humidity 65% in Winter)

IMG_8002

originally, the all floor of Palm House used to be this iron !

IMG_8006

we could learn lots of things about palm house with the great teacher. we had missed many things if without explanation by specialist.

★Nursery 〜Dry Tropical

IMG_8185

plants is fashionable,isn’t it;)

Cool / Aroids :  RBGK’s collections of Aroids is the biggest in whole Europe.

IMG_8203IMG_8201

↓↓ mostly, watering is not needed in Winter time as plants pool enough water its inside. it looks like as if it’s dead but it’s not. just it has lots of wrinkle.

watering will be started from around March and it’s blooming from April. I can imagine how much fun this room will be that time (although there is some fun things we can have only now. any season has any fun things.)

IMG_8155

once you touch Lophophora diffuse, you never forget this texture.!
