With breathtaking views out over the river Fal, Trelissick is one of Cornwall’s most famous woodland gardens. The 30 acre gardens were created in the mid 20th century, with the existing tree canopy and mild Cornish climate providing a sheltered environment in which tree ferns, bananas, ginger lilies, cannas and many more less-than hardy plants could be grown alongside hydrangeas, rhododendrons, camellias, magnolias and other woodland plants to provide colour and interest all year round, but especially in spring.

Goodness me RH, you’ll get writer’s cramp with all your blogs! Seriously, fantastic stuff, whets my appetite for our trip down to Cornwall in the Spring

You’ll love it Alastair – I’m a bit jealous now though as I’ve never seen Cornwall in the spring. Take lots of pictures for me!
